When my refrigerator broke, 2 months ago, I called Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (they had very nice add in the Yellow Pages). To my big surprise they scheduled service appointment for the same day.
Technician came in about 2 hours and diagnosed the problem within seconds. Upon my approval he repaired it right away. It’s been working for the last 2 months without any problem. I appreciate for fast reliable service. I will recommend this company to all my relatives and friends.

About 2 weeks ago I called Universal Appliances to repair my refrigerator. When I called to schedule an appointment, customer service representative was very helpful and professional and had scheduled the appointment for the same day, which was very convenient for me.

When the repairman checked the refrigerator, he honestly suggested that it was not worth repairing, since the unit was old and one repair would lead to another and the cost of the repairs might add up to the price of a new unit. He suggested for me to visit Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center’s showroom in Studio City. I went to their beautiful showroom and bought a new refrigerator for a price that was very competitive compared to other stores. The sales staff at Universal was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. I had all of my questions answered regarding the features and durability in different models of refrigerators. They even applied the $59 trip charge that I paid to the service technician towards the purchase of my new appliance. I will definitely consider Universal Appliances as my #1 choice for my next appliance purchases or repairs.

Everybody has some days that are even better than others. One of those really good days happened for us on Saturday, May 16. That's when we had the pleasure of working with Maida Magana at your Studio City store. Cost of repairs, along with the machine having 16 years of service, caused us to seek out a new dishwasher. We studied the internet, visited Lowe's, Sears, and Home Depot. That evening we discussed our findings with our next door neighbors, Ron and Jenny Lyons. After all, Ron and Jenny had recently remodeled THEIR kitchen, which included the purchase of all new appliances. "It's good that you did your homework," said Ron. "Now go to Universal." Upon their recommendation, we went to Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center and were most fortunate to be greeted and helped by Maida Magana. We were making a major purchase that would be with us for at least 10 years -- so we needed some guidance and advice, without a "hustle." We knew we wanted a dishwasher, but we didn't know much about the available features, accessibility, noise, etc. I'm telling this to you as background, because Maida was an answer to our prayers. She is warm, caring, very efficient, very knowledgeable (and when she didn't have an answer one time, she told us so, and then came right back with the information.) We spent almost an hour with Maida -- and did not make a purchase. We explained we had to go home and talk it over. At this point, Maida could have chosen to take a strong tactic. However, she correctly sized up the situation and us and took a lower road. She gave us measurements to make sure we would have no problems. She gave us a warm smile and a hearty handshake, and a feeling of confidence; we were dealing with the right person. Except for our neighbors, we didn't know anything about Universal. But we got to know Maida, and came to truly believe we were with an honest dealer. (And that's why we called Maida two days later -- for an appointment to go in and purchase our dishwasher.) Maida Magana is a breath of fresh air that other appliance stores don't offer. She has the knowledge and expertise, the ability to communicate in a sincere manner, the common sense and courtesy that makes you want to be her customer. Maida is a very strong asset to your organization. It was an honor to be her customer -- and we thought you'd like to know.

I read a lot of Yahoo reviewers who wrote put-downs of Universal AKB's customer service. I put in my order and left them alone. I received my kitchen range two weeks later, after it made a trip from Los Angeles to Portland via motor freight. It was still a better deal than I could get locally. Universal provided the best service that can be provided. They processed the order and shipped it fast in my view. They didn't give me needless information. They informed me that they would ship, and they did. That is the best any merchant can do. The deal was at a good price, they were easy to do business with, and they delivered. I'm a happy customer. I recommend them to everybody.

This place is just up the street from my house, but I ordered a double oven and a trash compactor online. The prices were amazing. I was able to get both units for the price Lowe's was charging for just the oven. I was concerned, though, in reading this company's yahoo customer ratings in that so many people said that their deliveries were very late and that customer service didn't always respond appropriately. When I placed my order, I put in the notes that if they had a problem with making sure I got my order on time and with professional customer service, then to cancel the order. I emailed them before I placed the order and asked how long it would take to get the appliances. It took several days, but I finally got a response saying 3-4 days. When I called after placing the order, I was told 3-4 weeks. So that's what I expected. After a week, I emailed them again and asked when it was going to arrive and they responded that my order was ready to go, just to call and schedule delivery. The appliances are great and I was thrilled to get such a good price.

This is a great store. They had about the best price on this cooktop that I could find. The cooktop took a little longer to arrive then I expected (16 days) but was will packed and in great condition and I did get a tracking number when they shipped it. The day after I placed the order I called to verify it and ask when it would ship. Customer service was nice and told me that they had to order it and it would probably ship in a week which it shipped 9 days later.
